HeritACT: Cultural heritage, a bridge between the past and the future of cities

Area

Communication

Client

Project funded by the European Union

Year

2023 - 2026

Impact

Improve the connection between the local community and its urban heritage

How can we provide more community value to cultural heritage through technological and social innovation?

The HeritACT project, funded by the EU, aims to activate heritage through participatory experiences, cultural practices, innovative tools, and sustainable urban solutions that enable common action. HeritACT has pilot projects in Milano (IT), Elefsina (GR), and Ballina (IR) as action points to implement installations and architectural spaces and connect residents with their urban heritage in an inclusive, sustainable, and participatory manner using a range of tools and resources collected in the HeritACT Toolkit.

The initiative is aligned with the principles of the New European Bauhaus regarding inclusion, sustainability, and aesthetics, to promote an architectural dimension that improves the quality of life in cities, and in the case of HeritACT, to establish a link between heritage and residents.
