Impact

Generate new business and capabilities in response to regulatory change in Colombia.

What will the future of the chambers of commerce in Colombia be like?

In 2019-2020, the Chambers of Commerce of Colombia initiated an innovation process in response to regulatory changes that threatened their current revenues. Through the Pentagrowth methodology, a strategic framework was developed and areas of opportunity were identified to explore new business models.

Over 16 weeks, 35 participants from different Chambers worked on the development of Chambers 2050, a project aimed at instilling a culture of innovation throughout the organization. The process was predominantly carried out online and culminated in an in-person workshop in Colombia, where 50 participants (teams, leaders, and Presidents of the Chambers) presented 11 business ideas. Four of these advanced to the prototyping and testing phase.

The project resulted in the creation of a joint innovation unit, establishing an unprecedented collaboration among the Chambers. Additionally, 35 people were trained in innovation methodologies, laying the groundwork for cultural transformation and the creation of internal talent.
