AirForAll: Good civic practices to investigate air quality

Area

Research

Client

Project funded by the European Union

Year

2023 - 2024

Impact

Sharing knowledge and practices for a better planet.

How can we help citizens and institutions better understand the effects of air pollution on health and climate?

Air for All was a project co-funded by Erasmus+ that developed a set of knowledge tools to [1] help citizens better understand the effects of air pollution, emissions, and climate change, and to [2] help cities leverage citizen participation in the collection of air quality data. Air for All has also launched an open digital platform for knowledge transfer and capacity building at the European and international level.

Air for All was driven by the Air Quality Organization of Västmanland County (Sweden), Ideas for Change (Spain), and Proofing Future Europe (Belgium/Germany). From IFC, we contributed our expertise in citizen participation and engagement in scientific projects, with a specific focus on the set of citizen science tools developed for the CitieS-Health project.

The Air for All forum is a platform for sharing and dissemination to exchange knowledge, good practices, resources, and information of interest regarding air quality and citizen participation. The forum is open and accessible to all those interested in joining a community to foster a better and sustainable planet for all.
