Regenerative Tourism

We create tourist destinations that develop regeneratively and are constantly innovating to improve the experience of the traveller and the host community

Traveling goes beyond visiting another city and learning about new cultures.

Regenerative Tourism provides a new tourist experience in which the host community is left better off than it was before.

An experience in which the visitor is involved in improving the destination and the local community through sustainable practices.

How we do it

We promote disruptive innovation through the DestinationsThatRock methodology, specifically created for the tourism sector where we combine Pentagrowth + CARE. The steps to follow are:

Anticipating the changes that affect the tourism sector, exploring the ecosystem and hidden resources and combining what is available to find value, we co-create #DestinationsThatRock with a shared vision.

Do you want to contribute to regenerative tourism and create your DestinationThatRocks?

In projects such as the FiturNext Observatory, we evaluate the impact of initiatives that promote positive tourism practices in the sector and measure the quality of the host site around the values of regenerative tourism.

Success stories of regenerative tourism

  • Barris Que Molen: discovering sustainable tourism potential

With the Sant Andreu district as a backdrop, the residents of the neighbourhood took part in a process to attract visitors who would contribute to economic reactivation in a sustainable way with the collaboration of Barcelona Activa. The result was the creation of a regenerative trade route designed by the district's commercial axis that drives a positive impact.

  • Astrotourism as a driver of local community development

We are located in the Iberá Park (Argentina), the largest nature and biodiversity reserve in the country. The Starlight Iberá project aims to boost the local development of the destination through the creation of an innovative sustainable tourism offer.

The creation of new tourism experiences related to stargazing will increase the number of visitors in a sustainable and destination-friendly way.

  • Rethinking tomorrow's hospitality

AccorHotels created AccorLocal, an initiative that made underused spaces available to local citizens looking for a gym, a meeting space, a place to manage delivery services, a room to hold their yoga classes, or other activities.
